Under the leadership of Chandni Chowk Member of Parliament Shri Praveen Khandelwal, over 2,000 BJP workers staged a massive protest at Shastri Nagar Metro Station in Sadar Assembly constituency today against the negligence and incompetence of the Aam Aadmi Party government and its MLAs. This was the fourth protest in a series planned across all ten assemblies of the Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency. Over the next week, BJP workers will stage protests in one assembly constituency per day, highlighting the failures of local MLAs and issuing chargesheets against them.

Leading the protest, Shri Praveen Khandelwal accused Sadar MLA Shri Somdutt of being a symbol of corruption who has ignored the basic issues of the area, leading to a multitude of problems.

Highlighting the issues, Shri Khandelwal said the poor sewer system and broken roads have made life miserable for the residents. He pointed out that the disorganized electricity infrastructure, with hanging wires in the streets, not only mars the area’s appearance but also poses a serious safety threat. Uncontrolled traffic on the roads has made commuting extremely difficult, while unauthorized encroachments on streets and sidewalks have led to complete disorder. Rising pollution and inadequate sanitation have worsened the condition of the area, while the deplorable state of public toilets adds to the inconvenience, especially for women and the elderly.

Shri Khandelwal strongly criticized the AAP government and local MLAs for completely ignoring public grievances. He said no developmental work has been undertaken, nor have there been any efforts to provide relief to the people. The government’s attitude towards the plight of the area remains utterly indifferent.

The MP declared that to ensure justice for the people and to expose the failures of the government, BJP workers would stage demonstrations across all ten assembly constituencies in the Chandni Chowk area over the next week. These protests aim to amplify the voice of the common people and hold the government accountable.

Shri Khandelwal urged the residents of Chandni Chowk to unite and demand accountability from the government for the resolution of these pressing issues. He stressed that decisive action for the welfare of the region is the need of the hour.

The MP announced that he has resolved to address these problems comprehensively. A decisive meeting will soon be held with all concerned government departments to assign responsibility and take strict action against non-performing officials. Shri Khandelwal also plans to meet with trade organizations and resident welfare associations in the coming week to assess the problems on the ground and seek their cooperation in finding solutions.
