Under the leadership of Chandni Chowk MP Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, hundreds of BJP workers staged a massive protest on Sadar Thana Road in Ballimaran Assembly Constituency against the negligence and inaction of the Delhi government led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its MLAs. This marked the beginning of a series of protests in all ten Assembly constituencies within the Chandni Chowk parliamentary area. Over the next week, BJP will conduct protests daily in one Assembly constituency, highlighting the failures of the MLAs and issuing chargesheets against them.
Mr. Khandelwal criticized Ballimaran MLA and AAP Minister Mr. Imran Hussain, stating that he has completely ignored the basic issues of the area, leading to a pile-up of problems. He accused Mr. Hussain of neglecting issues such as poor sewer systems and broken roads, which have made life difficult for residents. He also pointed out the mismanagement of electricity and the dangling wires in the streets, which not only spoil the appearance of the area but also pose serious safety risks. Unregulated traffic and illegal encroachments on roads and footpaths have added to the chaos, while rising pollution and poor sanitation have worsened the condition of the area. The poor state of public toilets has further inconvenienced the residents, with women and senior citizens being particularly affected.
Mr. Khandelwal stated that the AAP government and its MLAs have completely ignored the problems of the public. Neither has there been any development work, nor any efforts made to provide relief to the people. The government’s approach toward the area’s plight has been entirely indifferent.
The MP declared that BJP workers would hold protests in all ten Assembly constituencies of the region over the next week to expose the government’s failures and amplify the voice of the common people. These protests aim to hold the government accountable and push for responsibility.
Mr. Khandelwal urged Chandni Chowk’s citizens to unite and demand accountability from the government to resolve these problems. He emphasized the need for immediate and effective measures to improve the area.
To address these issues, Mr. Khandelwal announced that he is fully committed to taking action and will soon convene a decisive meeting with all government departments. The meeting will ensure accountability for pending work, and strict action will be taken against non-performing officials. Additionally, Mr. Khandelwal plans to meet with local business organizations and resident welfare associations next week to review the issues and seek their cooperation in resolving them.
