Manufacturers Conferences” to maximise benefits of Union Global trade agreements and Union budget by CAIT nationwide
Following the announcement of the Union Budget and the landmark India–US trade deal, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has decided to organise a series of “Manufacturers Conferences” across the country to create widespread awareness about the finer provisions of the recently concluded various FTAs & trade deals as also Union Budget, especially those relating to the MSME sector, manufacturing units, traders and entrepreneurs.
Announcing this initiative, CAIT Secretary General & Member of Parliament Shri Praveen Khandelwal said that these conferences will focus on the salient features of India’s key trade agreements, including the India–US trade deal, the proposed India–EU trade agreement, and other major trade pacts concluded in recent years, so that Indian MSMEs and traders are fully equipped to avail maximum benefits from emerging global market opportunities.
Recently concluded and significant trade agreements include,India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), India–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), India–Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), India–Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) and various other such trade deals concluded recently will be part of the awareness and empowerment program of the CAIT- said Khandelwal
These agreements have opened new avenues for exports, investments, technology transfer, and supply chain integration for Indian industry and MSMEs.
Khandelwal said that the Manufacturers Conferences will deliberate on tariff advantages, rules of origin, export facilitation, quality standards, logistics, ease of compliance, access to new markets, and global competitiveness, enabling traders and manufacturers to align their business strategies with India’s evolving trade architecture.
Praising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said that under his visionary and decisive leadership, India has transformed from a largely domestic-focused economy into a confident global trade and manufacturing powerhouse. The Union Budget, combined with strategically negotiated trade agreements, reflects the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local, while firmly integrating India with global value chains.
Khandelwal further stated that these conferences will act as a bridge between policy and practice, ensuring that the benefits of Budget reforms and international trade agreements percolate to the grassroots level, empowering MSMEs, strengthening domestic manufacturing, generating employment, and accelerating India’s journey towards becoming a $5 trillion economy.
