Special Parliament Visit for CAIT Traders – Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Addresses the Gathering

Under the leadership of Member of Parliament and Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) National Secretary General Shri Praveen Khandelwal, a special visit to the Parliament was organized today for CAIT traders. On this historic occasion, around 150 prominent trade leaders from across the country were given a tour of the new and old Parliament buildings and were also given the opportunity to witness a live parliamentary session

The highlight of the visit came when Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla addressed CAIT traders in his meeting room inside the Parliament premises. In his address, Shri Birla said, “CAIT is a nationwide organization of traders working tirelessly for traders across the country. Traders and trade are the backbone of the nation. A trader not only creates employment but also plays a significant role in driving the nation’s economy forward.”

He further stated that in view of the changing economic environment, traders must elevate their standards and continue striving for self-reliance. Reiterating the message of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said, “Traders should now sell and buy indigenous goods in the interest of the nation and themselves.”

The Lok Sabha Speaker assured the traders present that if trade-related issues are brought to his attention, he will endeavor to raise as many trade-related matters as possible for discussion in Parliament.

On this occasion, MP and CAIT National Secretary General Shri Praveen Khandelwal said, “The traders of the country stand firmly with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. We fully support his call to ‘buy and sell Indian goods,’ and from August 10, we will launch a nationwide campaign to promote indigenous products. This campaign will strengthen India’s economic self-respect and serve as a significant step toward building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).”

This event marked a historic moment for CAIT traders, as for the first time, traders were given such a special privilege in Parliament and a direct interaction opportunity with the Lok Sabha Speaker.
