CAIT Calls for Economic Nationalism to Build a Strong and Self-Reliant India
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has issued a strong appeal to the trading community and citizens across the country to embrace economic nationalism, urging traders to prioritize the sale of Indian products and encouraging consumers to support indigenous goods and local industries in the greater interest of the nation’s economy and sovereignty and to strengthen Atamnirbhar Bharat vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Highlighting the urgent need for a robust economic foundation, CAIT Secretary General and BJP MP from Chandni Chowk, Shri Praveen Khandelwal, stated, “Economic nationalism is the need of the hour. Every Indian must stand united in supporting Indian goods and businesses. This is not merely a trade-related issue—it’s about national pride, economic resilience, and strategic autonomy.”
Shri Khandelwal further raised concern over the role of foreign-funded e-commerce companies which, in collusion with international brands, are flooding the Indian market with foreign and counterfeit products—seriously distorting the Indian retail ecosystem. He emphasized that now is the time to take decisive action in favor of Indian products and fully back the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Made in India’ vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, thereby advancing the cause of economic nationalism.
CAIT has long championed the cause of domestic entrepreneurship and has consistently advocated for reducing dependency on foreign—especially Chinese—imports. Over the years, the organization has spearheaded multiple nationwide campaigns, including a sustained call for the boycott of Chinese goods. In the current tariff war, China is attempting to dump its goods in the Indian market but the traders and small industries of the Country will foil every such attempt of China
With a vast network of over 9 crore traders across the country, CAIT continues to lead from the front through mass awareness campaigns, outreach programs, and grassroots mobilization to shape a new economic framework that is self-reliant, sustainable, and rooted in national interest
