He noted that the centuries-old tradition of Ramlila has played a vital role in connecting Indian society with the ideals of dignity, duty, sacrifice, service, and patriotism, and emphasized that preserving and carrying forward this rich heritage is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

Shri Birla observed that Ramlila Committees across the country are strong custodians of India’s cultural heritage and folk traditions. Through generations, these committees have played a pivotal role in taking the ideals and life values of Lord Shri Ram to the masses. He stressed that in the era of modernization, innovation, technology, and greater public participation should be encouraged to connect younger generations with India’s cultural heritage and traditional festivals.

He further remarked that Ramlila serves as an effective medium for strengthening social harmony, national unity, and cultural awareness. By bringing together people from diverse sections of society on a common platform, it reinforces the inclusive spirit and broad philosophical foundations of Indian civilization.

Representatives of various Ramlila Committees present at the meeting shared their suggestions and experiences, and deliberated on a range of issues relating to the preservation, promotion, and wider outreach of Ramlila traditions.

On the occasion, Shri Praveen Khandelwal said, “Ramlila is a living celebration of India’s cultural soul. It is not merely a religious event but a reflection of our civilization, values, and national character. The initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla Ji in inviting Ramlila Committees to Parliament House and engaging in direct dialogue demonstrates his deep commitment to preserving our cultural heritage. Ramlila Committees are custodians of an invaluable legacy of Indian culture, and through their efforts, the ideals of Lord Shri Ram continue to reach every section of society. We must ensure that this glorious tradition is passed on to future generations in an even stronger and more vibrant form.”

Shri Khandelwal expressed confidence that under the guidance and patronage of Shri Birla, Ramlila Committees across the country would receive renewed energy and direction, further strengthening India’s ancient cultural traditions.
